Daniel Malott

MALOTT, Sr., Daniel J. of Saginaw Township, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at his home after a two-year battle with lung cancer, surrounded by family. He was 65 years old. Daniel "Dan" James Malott was born on February 1, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan to Leonard and Jean (Esmer) Malott. Dan graduated from St. Stephen High School with the Class of 1969. Since he was 19 years old, and for his whole life, he worked for Malott Coin Vending Co. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed sporting events, gardening, and boating. Dan enjoyed nothing more than spending time by the pool with family. Left to cherish his memory are Daniel Jr. (Bethany) Malott, Joseph D. (Elizabeth) Malott, Margaret (Aaron) Gottlieb; father, Leonard Malott; four grandchildren: Dylan, Daniel, Sawyer, and Luke; mother of his children, Korrin Hill; four brothers: David (Karen), Leonard (Arlene), Dean, and Patrick; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Jean. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw 48603. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Friday morning, Dan will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
