Geistman, Jean M. (Ehlert) Thomas Twp., Michigan Passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2016 surrounded by her family at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. Jean Margaret Minnis was born on October 17, 1923 in Saginaw to the late George Jr. and Florence (Becker) Minnis. Jean married Howard Ehlert in 1942. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1997. She then married Harold James Geistman on October 29, 2004 in Saginaw, MI. He survives her. Jean was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and the WIBC 600 Club. She loved to bowl, golf and play cards. Jean is survived by her husband, Harold; son, Jan (Elinor) Ehlert; daughters: Sherry (Tom) Cary and Susan (Dave) Dukarski all of Saginaw; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and one more on the way; sister, Gwen Henderson of Saginaw; and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by three sisters: Faye, Cleo and Geraldine; and five brothers: George Jr., Ron, Ralph, Jack and Beryl. Jean's family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre for the wonderful care they provided. According to Jean's wishes cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Countryside Trinity Church, 4690 Weiss St. Pastor Ken Parker will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Grandma had a way about her that always made us feel welcomed and loved. We always had a great time in Grandma's company whether we were sitting around the television, eating dinner, or playing a game of cards. Maybe it was the way she put her whole body into it when she laughed, letting go of a roll of laughter while tossing her head back and raising her right hand to meet her left in one clap. I laughed right along with her every time, even if I didn't hear the punchline. Grandma's laugh was contagious. And her love was even better. Her hugs and kisses were the warmest, her hands were the softest, and her eyes were the kindest. She never missed an opportunity to share an important event with family. She is loved. I am so grateful to be her Granddaughter. I will carry her love and lessons with me always. ♡♡♡

Jean was my stepmother, she was always interested in me and my family. She was a sweet warm hearted person. I loved her because she made my dad happy, she will be missed

My husband and I were lucky enough to be bowling partners in a couple of leagues, with Howard and Jean many years ago it was a great time. What fun to, also bowl in many ladies league with her. Such a great person. Prayers to her family. Mary & John Byerley
