Obituary
Maxwell, Alice L. (Shank) Bay City, MI formerly of Saginaw, MI Alice Lilly Maxwell passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her daughter's home, on Thursday, September 22, 2016. She was 63 years old. Alice Lilly Shank was born on August 19, 1953 in Saginaw, MI to the late Warren C. and Ida Jane (Westendorf) Shank. Alice grew up in Saginaw with her siblings, Ellen and George. She married Russell A. Maxwell, and together they shared many special moments together. Alice was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She loved to camp, fish, play softball, pool, shuffle board and cards. Alice shared her love by cooking and baking for her family and friends. Alice's memory will forever be cherished by her children: Paula Forbes, Richard Forbes, Jr., Dawn (Scott) Lutz and Jane (Eric) Neering; 15 grandchildren: James (Kayla) Forbes, Jerimiah Elliott, John Granville, Matthew Carlisle, Faith, Corey and Hailee Forbes, Nicolle (Christopher) Arkell, William Brethauer V, Dominique Lutz, Brett (Samantha) Lutz, Noel (Justin) Ray, Shavon, Hope and Alyson Neering; 6 great grandchildren; and her brother, George (Stacey) Shank. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ellen M. Shank; husbands: Richard Forbes, Robert Shivley and Russell A. Maxwell. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service to celebrate Alice's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), Saginaw. Vicar Matthew Hauser will officiate. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Entombment of Alice and Russell's cremated remains will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the American Cancer Society or MidMichigan Hospice.
