Betty Matula

Matula, Betty L. of Saginaw, Michigan Peacefully joined the Lord and reunited with her loved ones on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison. She was 66 years old. Betty Hoffmann was born on November 29, 1949 in Saginaw to the late Paul and June (Inman) Hoffmann. She was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation, Betty married the love of her life, Gary L. Matula; he preceded her in death on May 4, 1977. Betty was employed in the medical field throughout her life and worked at various locations, ending her career at Saginaw County Medical Health. She enjoyed taking trips "up north" and fishing. She will forever be remembered for her outspoken nature, and in her own special way, how she demonstrated this love to her family. Surviving are two daughters: Kimberly Matula of Saginaw and Julie (Shawn) Scanlon of Saginaw; six grandchildren: Alexandrea, Kayla, John, Sarah, Rachel, and Gloria; one great-granddaughter, Harmoni; a sister, Joan (Larry) Sample of Hemlock; a brother, Paul (Janet) Hoffmann of Freeland; three brothers-in-law: Tom (Jean) Matula, Ted (Elaine) Matula, and Bob (Kelly) Matula; and a sister-in-law: Susan Matula. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Matula. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State Street). Rev. John R. Johnson will officiate. Honoring Betty's wishes cremation will follow. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
