Schleimer, William A. "Bill" Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Hoyt Nursing Home and Rehab Centre at the age of 91. William A. Schleimer was born May 29, 1925 in Saginaw to the late William J. and Olga (Brandt) Schleimer. He married Clara Wirth on August 4, 1951 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Richville. They spent 65 wonderful years together. Bill proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he owned and operated William Schleimer and Sons Wholesale Candy and Tobacco. Bill was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church, and a charter member of the American Legion Post #400, Richville, MI. Bill's kindhearted spirit will forever be remembered by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Clara Schleimer; daughters: Susan (Victor) Blomstrom and Mary Herby, all of Saginaw; three grandchildren: Brian (Olivia) Blomstrom, Kelly (Robert) Wyman and Justin Herby; three great-grandchildren: Chase Wyman, Brenden and Braxton Blomstrom; sister, Dorothy Bickel; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frederick and Beatrice Wirth. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Bill will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Paul R. Hinz will officiate. Private entombment will be at Oakwood Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Bill will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Mr. Schleimer was our wonderful nextdoor neighbor growing up on Canterbury. He was the most gentle, kindhearted spirit. I will cherish memories of him taking great pride in his impeccable lawn. What a soul he had. Prayers for the whole family.
