Julio Porras

Beloved brother, uncle, and friend, unexpectedly passed away on August 7, 2016 at the MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. He was 65 years old. Julio Porras was born on November 29, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Julio and Louisa (Chavez) Porras. Jay honorably served in the United States Marine Corps in the Recon unit. After his discharge from the military, he continued to serve his country through his volunteer efforts with the American Legion Post #443. He would also go onto to work as a construction contractor. In his spare time, Jay enjoyed fishing, etching glass, and riding his motorcycle. Surviving are his five sisters and two brothers. Jay was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Following his Gift of Life donation, Jay has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 27, 2016 at the American Legion Post #443, 2080 N Meridian Rd, Sanford, MI 48657. The family will be present to greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
