Obituary
Linda Rae Clipper, 67, of Silver Spring, MD passed away on August 18, 2016. Daughter of the late Raymond and Gertrude Coppens of Saginaw, Michigan. Linda was born and raised in Saginaw Michigan. She taught for Saginaw Public Schools for more than 20 years and was a beloved teacher at Stone Elementary School from where she retired in 2010. Linda and her husband, Robert Clipper, moved to Silver Spring MD in 2011 to be near her daughter. She spent her retirement caring for her three grandsons, Mason, Nolan and Tanner Bolat. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she loved visiting her only granddaughter Kaitlyn Topham, and her newest grandson, Liam Topham. She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Clipper, as well as four children, Christopher Topham, of Bloomfield, Michigan, Jeffrey Topham of Bay City, Michigan, Rebecca (Art) Bolat of Brookeville, Maryland, and William (Jennifer) Topham of Sanford, Michigan. Also survived by five grandchildren, three brothers, Michael (Carol) Coppens, of Warren, Michigan, James Coppens (Marcia Gagnon) of Saginaw, Michigan, and Robert Coppens of Houston, Texas and many nieces and nephews. Donations in her honor may be made out to Norbeck Montessori and will be used to purchase items for the school. Donations may be mailed to Rebecca Bolat, 1804 Eagles Ridge Court, Brookeville, MD 20833. SERVICE: A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Linda was the first neighbor I met when we moved to Saginaw. Our children played together and Chris and Tina started kindergarten together. Linda kept our youngest sometimes and one day Dana arrived st her door in diapers. Linda took her home to find mom at work and dad sleeping on the sofa. She was s good friend and neighbor. Though we lost touch after we moved those memories are still vivid in my mind.

My family met Grandma Linda when she moved out to the DC area. Over the years her wonderful daughter Becky, and son in law became our closest friends and amazing neighbors. As my family grew and her grandkids were born we became close helping watch each other's kids. My two daughters came to know Linda as Grandma Linda, and they loved her so much. She spoiled them like her own grand daughters, she took me and loved me and my wife like her own kids! Always there to help out, including driving my mother in law from Michigan down to DC, when my wife had cancer. My mother in law and Linda became great friends always talking and taking road trips to see their grandkids and family. She always would tell me be careful out there with your job, and told me she prayed for me everyday! And every time my family would see Grandma Linda we would hug her and tell her we loved her. And in return She would smile and hug us back and tell my family love you all too, if you need anything let me know! My family miss's her so much, especially our daughters. Grandma Linda we love you so much, and our family miss you everyday! I know you were an angel with your love, kindness, and love of strangers you had only met! We will see you in heaven, for the tears we cry are of great pain and sorrow, but also of joy knowing your with our father in heaven. We love you so much always and forever! To Becky we love you and your family like our own, know we are always and forever here for you.
