Herrera, Crusita Ruiz Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. She was 76 years old. Crusita Ruiz was born on September 14, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Martin and Herminia (Garcia) Ruiz. She married Daniel V. Herrera Jr. on June 10, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2005. Crusita is survived by two daughters and three sons: Rebecca (Daniel) Cervantes, Saginaw; Yvonne (Nathan) Ellis, Saginaw; Daniel Herrera, Saginaw; James (Nancy) Herrera, Saginaw; Abraham (Imelda) Herrera, Edinburg, TX; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brothers: Domingo (Hortencia) Ruiz, Blas Ruiz, Joe (Olga) Ruiz and Rudy (Sylvia) Ruiz; brothers-in-law, Jacinto (Alexandria) Herrera and Hector (Terry) Herrera. Crusita was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, David Herrera; two sisters and three brothers. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy for Crusita will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua site, 3680 South Washington. Rev. Fr. Thomas Schmied OFM Cap will officiate with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Crusita will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua site. I remember when she lived in Immokalee and took Cruzita and Mommie Chita shopping. I was there taxi and dropped them off at the front door. Only the best for those two beautiful ladies. Cruz was so much fun and I loved her laugh. Boy she could laugh. I can still hear it. You will be missed. Rest in peace and may you already be in his arms.
