CURBEY, Dean P. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at his home, surrounded by family. He was 63 years old. Dean Paul Curbey was born on December 18, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late George T. and Rosebud M. (Summerfield) Curbey. He married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen M. Ohmer on February 24, 1973; she survives him. Dean graduated from Douglas McArthur High School with the Class of 1971. He retired from Saginaw Machine Systems with 30+ years of service. Dean was a member of the Catholic faith and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and outdoor activities with his family. Dean loved nothing more than spending time and playing with his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Kathy; two sons and one daughter: Michael (Carrie), Lisa, and Ryan (Kristi); three grandchildren: Leila, Trent, and Cameron; four sisters and one brother: Dianne Rizk, Grant (Debi) Curbey, Carole Curbey, Georgia (Rick) Lacy, and Shawn (Dale) Gerling; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. FUNERAL: Memorial Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastoral Minister Sharon Wahl will officiate. Cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Kathy and family, please accept my sincere condolences. I went to school with Dean for many years. I can remember vividly trying not to laugh in class when he was giving the teacher a hard time, that must have been 5th or 6th grade. I think everyone at school knew who he was. Then, years later, I worked with you, Kathy, at the Township Hall. I've thought of you often, hoping to meet up with you sometime. Take care of you and yours and rest in peace Dean.
