Michael Hensler

Michael James Hensler passed away Monday June 20, 2016, unexpectedly at 23 years young. Leaving behind his father, Rick Hensler, Marci Lytle; step-brothers: Logan and Cameron; his step-sister, Skylar Lavere; his grandfather, James S. Hensler; his grandmother, Henrietta T. Hensler. Also surviving are many special people, his "Squad, " Carter and Austin Westphal, Eddie, Richard and Jamie Gomez, Jack Johnston, Debbie Metiva and Jason Sciwinski; Shirley, Mark, Brody & Megan Burke; Erin, Cooper, Brian and Laurie Westphal; Nick Wainwright and Tammy Turner. As well as an aunt, Heidi; uncle, Mike; uncle, Jim Pogoreski; and all of his friends at Belle Tire; and his furry buddy Lucy Bonez. He was predeceased by his mother, Jill Ann Pogoreski. An army of people raised Mikey with Rick and shaped him into the man he is. His dynamic, goofy, fearless personality helped him connect with everyone he met. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He made the most of every situation and always noticed the best parts of everyone and everything. Times were fun just because he would show up. He lived every day to the fullest and his life will live on in the many memories he created from his love of life. He will be remembered in our hearts forever for his contagious laughter, fun and generous spirit. We would like to give our wholehearted thanks to the very special nurses at Covenant HealthCare in Neuro ICU who took special care of Mikey: Wendy, Ashley, Allison, and Ryan. As well as all of the physicians and other staff. We sincerely appreciate all of the support we received from everyone at Belle Tire, Covenant, and all of the friends and family who held our family up during this time. We would also like to thank the Gift of Life program for guiding us through as Mikey continues to give life to others. "Good Talk" as Mikey would say. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Andy Booms will officiate. Honoring Mikey's wish cremation has taken place. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o Rick J. Hensler.
