McNISH, Ann E. of Palm Harbor, FL, formerly of Saginaw, MI, passed away on May 21, 2016 at Comprehensive Healthcare in Clearwater, FL. She was 97 years old. Ann Elizabeth Holcomb was born on June 25, 1918 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Floyd and Claire (Quinlan) Holcomb. She married Frederick D. McNish on October 19, 1946 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Saginaw; he preceded her in death on August 18, 2012. Ann received her education and graduated from St. Andrew Catholic School in Saginaw. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. In her spare time, Ann enjoyed being with family and friends, baking, reading, making people laugh, sewing, watching football, baseball, MSU basketball, and loved helping others. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters and one son: Judy Rowland of FL, George McNish of Saginaw, Brenda Lake of FL, and Geralyn (Arnold) Brady of Brighton; a daughter-in-law: Lisa McNish of Saginaw; seven grandchildren: Katy (Mike), Josie, Emily (Francis), Mary (Mike), Jeff, Greg and Andy; four great-grandchildren: Ethan, Amber, Layne and Luke; one sister, I. Marilyn Mooney; two sisters-in-law: Pree Holcomb and Dolores McNish; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years, Dick; brother, Dr. George M. Holcomb; and two sons, Richard F. McNish and James R. McNish. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Comprehensive Healthcare and Hospice of the Florida Suncoast; Burgundy Team for the compassionate care they gave to Ann during her final months. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m, as well as on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. My condolences to the McNish family. As a neighbor of Mr. & Mrs. McNish I have many fond memories. Mrs. McNish was generally an inside person, however she loved going to the store in her car. Sometimes, I would tell her she was driving a bit fast she always say I'm not going that fast! She would often time send treats over especially during the holidays. Mrs. McNish was a very kind and welcoming lady. She is truly missed yet the memories will live on & on. I couldn't have asked for better neighbors!
