MILLER, Robert "Bob" H. of Saginaw, Michigan unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Covenant Medical Center - Cooper. He was 66 years old. Robert Hans Miller III was born on May 18, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Robert and Dorothy (Dubay) Miller. He married Darlene M. Wittbrodt on October 18, 1969; she survives him. Bob graduated from Buena Vista High School with the Class of 1967. Since he was 12 years old, Bob worked for the family business, Miller Auto Body Shop, which he later co-owned the business with his siblings. He and Darlene were members of the St. Francis de Sales Church for many years. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed working, but also loved to go fishing. A highlight of his week, Bob and a group of his friends were the "Pompeii Lunch Club"; every Saturday they ate together and solved the problems of the world. Bob loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Darlene; two daughters and one son: Robin (Brad) King, Rhonda (David) Paquette, and Robert H. (Shawn) Miller, IV; seven grandchildren: Cassie, Nolan, and Cameron King, Davis and Willem Paquette, and Kennedy and Kaele Miller; two sisters and two brothers: Sally Miller, Roberta (Richard) Murdock, and twins, Ronald (Christine) Miller and Donald (Bonnie) Miller; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the St. Francis de Sales Parish - St. Christopher Catholic Church site, 3945 Williamson Rd, Saginaw 48601. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On Monday morning, Robert will be taken to church to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Bob and Darlene Miller were my wonderful neighbors for almost ten years. My three little girls loved spending time with the Millers. We all have many great memories of our years on Madsen Road.
One year, we had a really heavy snowfall. I had quite a long driveway. The girls and I were out trying to shovel all the snow. A truck with a snow plow turned down our road. I remember praying and telling God how nice it would be if that snow plow came for my driveway. To my surprise, Bob Miller was in that truck. And of course, he and another man plowed my driveway.
Bob was always ready to help and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
Darlene, we are sending love and prayers to you and your family. We were shocked and saddened to hear the news.
