Thomas Krueger

Krueger, Thomas R. Thomas Twp., Michigan Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Marys of Michigan surrounded by his family after a long a courageous battle for the last six years. He was 67 years old. Thomas R. Krueger was born on September 6, 1948 in Saginaw, MI to the late Gerhardt and Muriel (LaBrake) Krueger. He married Sue Stevens on September 18, 1971 in Saginaw. Tom worked for the Thomas Township Department of Public Works for over 35 years, retiring as the Superintendent. He loved to play fast pitch softball, and using his skills to coach his son during his baseball season. Tom also loved to fish, hunt, golf and play a competitive game of cards. He was an avid outdoorsman and founding member of the StevensKrue Hunt Club. Most important to Tom was his family and spending time with them. Tom is survived by his wife, Sue; children: Tammi (Jim) Bakos, Scott and Ryan Krueger; his very special grandchildren: Drew, Taylor and Grant Bakos; siblings: Jerry (Maureen) Krueger, Janice (John) Wahr, Wayne (Sharon) Krueger and Tim Krueger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: John (Kathy) Stevens, Kim (Carolyn) Stevens, Jeff (Kim) Stevens; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Tom will also be deeply missed by his dear Havanese dog, Toby. He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws: Jack and Doris Stevens. MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Memorial Service for Tom will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State), Saginaw. Pastor Sue Hand will officiate. Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859 and the U.S. Army. According to Tom's wishes cremation has taken place. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home, on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
