Obituary
Polzin, JoAnn Lynn Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Barton Woods Assisted Living, surrounded by her family. She was 62 years old. JoAnn Lynn Polzin was born on February 28, 1954 in Saginaw to the late Raymond C. and Isabelle (Chisholm) Polzin. JoAnn enjoyed driving school bus for the Saginaw Public Schools for over 28 years. She loved following the Red Wings and the Saginaw Spirit Hockey teams. JoAnn was a faithful member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, and enjoyed singing with the choir and volunteering with different groups. She loved to show her creativity and pamper herself with a manicure. Above all JoAnn loved her family and will be deeply missed by her son, Jason Michael Polzin; brothers: David (Mimi) Polzin and Carl (Sheila) Polzin; nephews and nieces: Kevin, Kalvin, Julayne, Jason, Jeff, Kathy, and David; and a special nephew, Caleb; many great nephews and great nieces including a dear great niece, Ashley. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Ronald (Patricia) Polzin. JoAnn's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Barton Woods Assisted Living and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care that they provided. FUNERAL: A funeral service for JoAnn will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3460 Crestmont Dr., Saginaw. Pastor Michael Wilke will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. JoAnn will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to Gethsemane Lutheran School. JoAnn was a very caring and giving person. She opened up her home to young hockey players that played for the Saginaw Gears Junior Hockey team in order for them to advance their hockey careers as well as their education. She made our world a much brighter and better place. Thank you JoAnn on behalf of all the young people that you helped.
