Obituary
Missey Kelly of Saginaw Twp., Michigan Our beloved mother, Mimi, fiancée, daughter, sister and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Cartwright Hospice Residence with her family by her side. She was 63 years old. Mildred Ann Guimond was born on December 26, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Arthur and Mary (Tait) Guimond. She was employed as the CEO of Saginaw Medical Federal Credit Union for over 40 years. Missey was proud of her community and passionately participated and volunteered her time with the Saginaw Valley Rotary Club, Saginaw Leadership and Saginaw Township Business Association. She was also a founding member of the McNally Hospitality House. Missey enjoyed riding her bike, golfing, and gardening. Above all, she loved and cherished traveling and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Harper. Missey treasured the many family memories made at the family camp on Little Lake. Missey lived her life to the fullest and was proud to have participated in a marathon, as well as a sprint triathlon, in Zukey Lake. She will forever be remembered for her love of family, being a kind and gentle soul to those in need, and for truly being an indomitable spirit. Simply put, Missey was an extraordinary woman, full of courage, strength and compassion, she was, and still is, priceless. Surviving are two children: Meghan (Jared) Katerberg, Matt Kelly; granddaughter, Harper Katerberg; fiancé, Chris Fechter; father, Arthur Guimond; and six siblings: Margaret (Bruce) Grathwohl, Art (Jan) Guimond, Marie (Dave Tuskey) Guimond, Kathy Guimond, Mark (Jeneese) Guimond and Amy (Steve) Stagg. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Guimond and a nephew, Andrew Beckman. SERVICE: A Celebration of Missey's life will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Horizons Conference Center, 6200 State Street. Sr. Anne Breitag will officiate. VISIATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A time of reflection will be led by Sr. Anne Breitag at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends on Saturday at the Horizons Conference Center from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service. I've had the privilege of knowing Missey since the early 70's when she began her outstanding career with SMFCU. She will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, dear Missey.
