Beatrice Ugartechea

Our loving sister, aunt and friend went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Cartwright Hospice Residence, surrounded by her family. She was 73 years old. Beatrice A. Ugartechea was born on April 22, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Manuel and Terry (Garza) Ugartechea. Bea graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1960. She then attended Evangel College in Springfield, MO in 1964 with her Education degree. She also obtained her Master's in Education from Central Michigan University. She taught in the Saginaw Public School system for 31 years until her retirement in 1996. In her free time, she was an avid reader, enjoyed watching tennis, words, the English language, political ideas, and gardening. Left to cherish her memory is her brother, David Ugartechea; sister, Sally Tyler; two nephews: John (Kasaundra) Tyler and Michael (Krystina) Tyler; great-nephews: Johnny and Noah Tyler; one great-niece, Olyvia Tyler; devoted cousin, Gilbert Gomez; and many other family members and friends. Bea was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Arthur Ugartechea. FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Sister Phyllis Klonowski will officiate. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m and also on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
