Michael Duane Berg, 52, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2016 in his home surrounded by family after a long, hard fight battling Melanoma Cancer. At his request, no service will be held. Michael's wishes were to be cremated and to have his ashes scattered at his favorite place. Michael was born on March 7, 1963 in Saginaw, Michigan to Duane and Patricia (Eurich) Berg. Michael grew up and graduated from St. Peter and Paul in Saginaw, Michigan in 1981. For many years Michael worked as a Foreman laying telephone cable and for the last five years worked for Utility Contracting. Through their shared love of Euchre, Michael met Victoria (Miller) and fell in love. After 10.5 years, they were married on June 21, 2013 and have been happily married ever since. Michael and Victoria shared a home with their three children and two dogs. They enjoyed playing war games together on the Xbox and cherished their nights spent together, watching episodes of "The Big Bang Theory." Michael enjoyed Salmon, Steelhead and Trout fishing on the Au Sable River, in his custom made Riverman boat, alongside his favorite fishing partners: his brother, Dan Berg and his loveable pup Kobe. He loved working in the yard and collecting Gnomes. He also enjoyed remodeling the property up north in Au Gres. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Duane and Patricia (Eurich) Berg, Aunt Carol (Eurich) Berg, grandparents Walt and Josephine Eurich, and Grandfather Charles Kinkle. Michael is survived by his wife Victoria of Saginaw, Michigan; his son Brian and daughters Ashley and Shawnea of Saginaw, Michigan; his brother Daniel Berg of Bay City, and sister Christine Dilts of Oakley; his grandchildren Haliana and Michael; and his niece Alexis Dilts aka AAD and nephews Justin Tripp and Brandon Weiler; his Grandmother Judy Kinkle; his Uncle Bill Berg Sr.; and his Cousins Bill Berg Jr. (Ann) and JoAnne Kelley (Thom). A memorial luncheon will be held at Moose Lodge 82 located at 2218 Midland Rd. Saginaw, Michigan from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. At this time, the family will be greeting friends and relatives. The family request that any donations made in Michael's honor be made to Home & Hospice Advantage in Bay City, Michigan or the Berg Family Fund set up for his grandchildren: Haliana and Michael.

When we were kids I can remember the family's love for hockey. I used to go to Gears games with them and one memory I have of Mike is that they had an ice rink in their backyard. As he and Dan were playing hockey one day, Mike hit the puck a little too hard and hit my dad square in the face with the puck, broke his nose. At the time it wasn't too funny but to think back on the scene,seeing Mike and Dan freaking out thinking they were in trouble, watching Pat run outside to see if my dad was okay and my dad saying it was okay they are just kids and accidents happen, was priceless. Mike was quite relieved and glad he was not in trouble. They moved away and we lost track of each other, but I will always fondly remember The Berg Family, for they were the first friends we had in our lives. RIP Mike and hugs to the family, may you find peace in this time of sorrow.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of this great guy. My sincere condolences to the family. I hung out with Mike at SSPP. We were teammates on the football team, manning the trenches. He was a real good player, a man amongst boys who always gave his best effort. I remember hanging out in the commons playing euchre; in which he was a master at. Great times, great memories!

Many good memories of Mike. The world has lost a great father, brother, husband and friend. As a teenager my first memory of Mike is of Mrs Berg always saying. " Mike put some clothes on Jenny is here" time and time again ,as I believe Mike used to like to hang out a lot in his underwear. We were never allowed in his bedroom either, but every once in a while we could go in and look at all the fish in the big fish tank in his room. A few years passed then remember when he had Brian, what a beautiful baby he was and how we adored him. As an adult I remember many Fridays and Saturdays hanging out in Chris' back yard or laying by the pool at Mikes apartment, listening to music, drinking a few beers and many laughs. Of course Chris and Mike were always shopping for Hot wheels on Saturday and occasionally I joined them You will be missed Mike. Jenny Florence
