Kumbier, Jean B. of Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at HealthSource of Saginaw. She was 90 years old. Jean Catherine Bremer was born on March 21, 1925 in Saginaw to the late George H. and Margaret A. (Fitting) Bremer She was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Following graduation she began working for Morley Brothers in the business office. She married the love of her life, Howard H. Kumbier on November 1, 1947, upon his return from World War II. Together they celebrated 58 wonderful years of marriage. Howard preceded her in death on January 3, 2005. She would later work for Remer Plumbing for over two decades, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the former Germania Country Club. Jean was an avid golfer, loved traveling and also enjoyed bowling in her younger years. Above all she loved and cherished her family and friends. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Patricia Bremmer of Estero, Florida; and nephews and nieces: David (Sharon) Remer of Saginaw, Robert (Janet) Remer of Saginaw and Donna Remer and her husband, Dennis Summerfield of Freeland, and Julie (the late, Roderick) Remer of Hemlock. She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Bremmer; one brother-in-law, Robert Remer; and one sister-in-law, Helene Remer. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Susan Hand will officiate. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Jean has been my good friend and neighbor for over 21 years. Our husbands did many things together until they both passed on. Jean went with Mike Gebler and I to church and Sunday School for quite a while and our people got to know and love her. We always watch fireworks together before our husbands died and for many years afterward Mike would take us back to the same old places. We had the privilege of taking care of Jean the last 10 years of her life as her health failed and she had to have nursing assistants in her home. She would go with us to Wescourt Retirement Village every month for fellowship as Mike would have a Bible study and fellowship afterwards. She got to meet a lot of new friends and really enjoyed herself. We would visit with other friends, go on picnics and attend social events as she was able. The last year of her life she spent at Health Source where she continued to smile and interact with the nurses and other patients. Everyone there really liked her. We celebrated her 90 Birthday there last year where she invited everyone there for cake, ice cream and lots of singing. She always kept her love of life and enjoyment of others. I will miss her very much!

Jean and I have been friends for many years our friendship started back in South school and just continued until her passing. She and Howard and my husband did a lot of golfing and vacationing together over the years . She my was golf partner for twenty five years at Beech Hollow golf course and she also bowled with me for several years. She was a good true friend and I kept going to see her faithfully all the while her health was failing. I will have good memories of her and lots of pictures I have of us. Rest in Peace Jeanie.
