Ann Michalski

Michalski, Ann (Merrill) of Cadillac, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, passed away on Tuesday, December 08, 2015 at The Lakeview with her family by her side. She was 71 years old. Ann Merrill was born on June 24, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late William and Gertrude (Pfander) Merrill. She married David B. Michalski at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Ann and David lived in Forest Park, Illinois for many years where she worked for AT&T/Michigan Bell, as well as Northwestern University. She retired to Lake City in 2006. Ann loved cats, cooking, buying antiques, playing cards and traveling. She also enjoyed reading and volunteering at Second Chance, a resale shop that helps abused families. Surviving are a sister, Mary (Bill) Spurgeon of Lake City; two nephews and three nieces: William (Maggie) Spurgeon, Paul Spurgeon, Colleen Spurgeon, Marnie Michalski, and Emily Michalski; a niece, Lucille Marie Spurgeon; and a great-niece, Mary Elizabeth "Maize" Spurgeon. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Lake City Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
