Obituary
Dunker, Earl E. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Luther Manor, surrounded by his family. He was 88 years old. Earl E. Dunker was born on March 20, 1927 in Saginaw to the late Edward and Meta (Dirker) Dunker. Earl proudly served his country with the Army. He married Joann Mary Nuerminger on June 19, 1951, and she preceded him in death on October 12, 2014. Earl was a faithful member of Peace Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering at the church. He retired from Hemlock Semiconductor in 1987. Earl enjoyed being an outdoorsman, avid stamp collector, and loved to spend time in his garden. He is survived by his six children: Steve (Dorcas) Dunker, Christine (Ron) Schultz, Karl (Sherry) Dunker, Marilynn Dunker, Bruce Dunker, and Kay Dunker; and by four grandchildren: Sara Schultz, Bethany (Garet) Ellis, Nathan Schultz, and Katrina (Luke) Garrison; and one great-child, Norah Joann Ellis; two nephews, Paul Platte and Jim Platte. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister-in-law, Kathleen Platte. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Earl will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Edward Kast will officiate. Burial and Military Honors will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Earl will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Peace Lutheran Church. So sorry to hear about Earl`s passing. I met and worked with Earl at Swifts frozen foods. A physical stronger man I do not think I have ever met in my life nor a kinder more gentle man. I will all ways cherish the time Earl and I spent in the cold storage rooms working and duscusing religion. The good die young as in Earls case even 88 is not considered young. He is in my prayers.
