Obituary
Roth, Jack "John" Conrad of Au Gres, Michigan formerly of Saginaw, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015. He was 94 years old. Jack Conrad Roth was born on February 26, 1921 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Conrad John and Clara (Greve) Roth. He married Jean Gray on May 11, 1943 in Saginaw; she preceded him in death October 31, 2001. He proudly served his county by enlisting in the U.S. Naval Service Coast Guard. Jack was employed by Colgate Palmolive, retiring after 31 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in AuGres. Surviving are a son, John C. Roth, Jr. and his special friend, Karen Treadway of Hemlock; two grandchildren: John C. (Lisa) Roth, III of Ann Arbor, and Jodi (Michael) Schultz of Freeland; four great-grandchildren: Abigail, Grace and Sophia Roth and Emilie Schultz; and a niece, Barb (Larry) Schmitzer. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Garey; a daughter-in-law, Denise Roth. Honoring Jack's wishes cremation has taken place. In accordance with his wishes a private service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Dear John and family,
I have great memories of Jack and Jean from the old Germania and the many parties at our home with my mom and dad. Wishing you comfort with happy memories. May he rest in peace.

I have fond memories of Jack Roth as for around 20 years of my working in sales Jack was my competitor and friend. I taught me much about selling and life in general those working years.
About 2 months ago I drove north to Au Gres to visit him at his home. He did not know I was coming and since was a surprise it made it even better as Jack and I talked about the old times working in the grocery retail business for our two companies. He looked alert and and energetic and ended with a will see each other again soon.
A true gentleman and good person to everyone.

Jack was always welcoming whenever I visited. He had many stories to tell, and spoke fondly of AuGres. It seemed he knew most everyone in AuGres. He will be missed. Thank God for Jack and the many visits I had with him.

My parents and I lived a few houses down from Jack for many years. They looked out for each other many many times. Even after I moved out I would see Jack walking daily! Even in the worst weather...he never excepted a ride back home! Crazy man!! :relaxed: say hello to Hal and Donna Jack! Thank you for being you!

Sorry to hear about the passing of Jack. We would always sit next to him in church and he would always join us for breakfast at H & H Restaurant. His conversation was always about his family, the stock market and politics. He always looked good for his age. It must have been all the walking that he did. We missed him when he no longer attended our church. May he rest in peace. He is now with his beloved Jean.
