Gladys Horvath

HORVATH, Gladys M. of Cadillac, Michigan, went home to the Lord on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at St. Marys of Michigan in Saginaw. She was 91 years old. Gladys Marie Gabrielson was born on October 20, 1924 in Cadillac, Michigan to the late Floren and Clara (Olson) Gabrielson. She married Frank Horvath in 1950; he preceded her in death March 2003. Gladys graduated from Cadillc High School. She retired from Paulstra Inc, formerly Cadillac Molded Rubber. Gladys was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Cadillac. In her spare time, she enjoyed yard work. Surviving is one son, David Horvath of Saginaw; granddaughter, Chelsea Horvath and great-granddaughter, Riley Painter of Freeland; five nieces: Mary (Steve) Gibson of Grand Rapids, Pat (Ecko) Devries of Grand Rapids, Debby (Terry) Willard of Gleewood, SC, Linda (Marc) Perry of Lainsberg, MI, and Diane (Michael) McElreath of Abilene, TX; two nephews: Gary Binger of Cadillac and Steve (Marylyn) Binger of Idaho. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Frank; brother, Donald Gabrielson; two sisters: Ethel Knudsen and Evelyn "Alice" Binger; and two nephews: Don Gabrielson Jr. of Cadillac and Dennis Knudsen of TN. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at St. Marys for their excellent care, Dr. Robert Schwert of Cadillac, and a special thanks to Dr. Lori Crago of Cadillac. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service is planned at a later date at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
