Kerns, Kathryn Margaret (Provo) Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre, surrounded by her family. She was 91 years old. Kathryn Margaret Provo was born December 2, 1923 in Dearborn, MI to the late Charles and Katherine (Hauck) Provo. She married Robert C. Kerns on May 27, 1944. He predeceased her on May 6, 1973. Kathryn had been a faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church. She retired from the Saginaw County Road Commission. Kathryn is survived by her children: Charles (Carolyn) Kerns, Kathryn (Bruce) Schuster and Cynthia Hanley (Howard Lewis); five grandchildren: John (Sandy) Northrup, Melissa (Benjamin) Iliff, David (Barbara) Kerns, Richard (Elizabeth) Hanley and Erin (Ryan) Lambert; great-grandchildren: Hannah, Andrew and Matthew Iliff, Emily Kerns, Charlotte and Natalie Hanley, Ryanne Martin and Ruby Lambert; step grandchildren: Nicholas (Nicole) Schuster, Zachary Schuster (Jennifer Meihls); step great-grandchildren: Rebecca and Jessica Andrews, and Isabelle Schuster. Kathryn was predeceased by her husband, Robert; and sisters: Francis Miller and Marjorie Provo. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Kathryn will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Rev. Jim Neumann will officiate. Private burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Second Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
