Obituary
Beloved dad, grandpa, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital with his family by his side. He was 71 years old. Roy A. Jaenicke was born on September 16, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Clarence Francis and Thelma L. (Brumeister) Jaenicke. He was employed by General Motors for 30 years. Roy was actively involved with the annual Plant 2 reunion. He enjoyed playing cards, watching television and movies. Roy was a very giving and selfless man, touching many lives throughout his life. Above all, he loved and cherished his family and friend, especially spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters: Robin (Mark) Keyser of Saginaw, and Naomi Burton of Midland; five grandchildren: Braden, Madison, Colten, Spencer, and Samantha; and three brothers: Clarence (Fran) Jaenicke, Carl (Jackie) Jaenicke, and Jack (Ruth) Patty. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, dear friends, special UAW friends as well as a special Godson, Michael Jaenicke. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Select Specialty Care Hospital. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Lynne Biddle will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Christian Celebration Center. Roy was a kind big hearted man who placed other's first always. I have known Roy for 10 years always considered him a father figure and friend. He was always there for me and Michelle and Dalton. He never complained and was available for everyone. Roy will be missed but never forgotten. I love you Roy. Your friend and son in law.

I first met Roy when I was 12, because I have been friends with Naomi since middle school. On every occasion that I have seen him, he had always been kind and generous. Even as an adult, when I'd visit his house to see Naomi, with my children, he was so very nice to all of us. There was never a time that I didn't feel welcomed by him. Anytime I saw him grocery shopping, he'd always stop and have a conversation with me. My children, always pointed him out if they saw him first, and were always excited to see him. I have a hard time remembering many times that I didn't see a smile on his face. I could always see how much he loved and cared for Naomi and her kids. He was a sweet man, and I know he will be missed.
