WINTERS, Dale L. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on October 6, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison. He was 75 years old. Dale Lawrence Winters was born on March 14, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Earl and Mary (Theisen) Winters. He married Susan Joyce Reitler on October 14, 1961; she survives him. Dale graduated from St. Peter & Paul Catholic High School. He would then work as a furnace operator for General Motors for 30 years until his retirement in 1988. He was a Past Vice-President of the Saginaw Field and Stream Club, was a member of the Citizens on Patrol for the Saginaw Township Police Department, crossing guard for Hemmeter School, and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of the Catholic faith. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors, and teaching children archery and hunter's safety. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Susan; three sons and one daughter; Steve Winters, Jim (Kelly) Winters, Barb (John) Kushon, and Mike (Lisa) Winters; nine grandchildren: Savannah, Baileigh, Blake, Ashley, John, Alex, Jeremy, Jordan, and Kindra; one great-granddaughter, Lorelai; two sisters: Joan Ticknor and Rose Marie Schwalm; and good friend, Ron Berlin. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl; and sister, Mary Anne. Cremation has taken place. Per Dale's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw Field and Stream Club Building Fund. Dale was a wonderful man, dedicated to the Saginaw Field & Stream Club and all its members, and even more so for the young members and future archers and shooters here in the state of Michigan. We took our director training at the MUCC DNR training center at Higgins Lake. Dale had been a director before ever receiving this training. Dale was an outstanding mentor before and after the training. His ability to direct young people in the archery and shooting sports was not taught, but a gift that he had. He had a wonderful personality that showed through in everything that he did. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. Don and Ruth Belisle
