Evelyn Tompa

Tompa, Evelyn of Kochville Township, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2015. She was 98 years old. Evelyn Shields was born on April 9, 1917 in Kochville Township to the late Charles and Ella (Miller) Sheilds. She married Julius Tompa on February 2, 1941; he preceded her in death in 1991. Evelyn resided at Shattuck Manor and enjoyed, playing cards Bingo, and going to the casino. Above all, she loved and cherished her family. Surviving are her children: Gary (Kathy) Tompa of Saginaw, Janice (William) Jackson of Glennie, Judith Tompa of Las Vegas, NV, and Richard Tompa of Chesaning; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Tompa; grandson, Mark Jackson; and brother, Howard Shields. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Bill Bodnar will officiate. Private entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday, September 5, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
