Obituary
Babcock, Janice Marie (DeCorte) of Port Orange Florida, formerly of Alma and Saginaw, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2015 at her home in Saginaw, Michigan. Janice was born on October 9, 1938 in Saginaw and was the last of four children of Frank and Lillian DeCorte. Janice graduated from St. Mary's High School in Saginaw. She married Kaye Babcock and raised her family in Alma Michigan. She was the loving mother of four children, Mark, Lisa, Susan, and Scott. Janice worked a variety of jobs in her life including Sherriff Deputy, legal secretary, postal worker, and lastly was employed by the State of Michigan before retiring. Upon retiring Janice moved to Port Orange, Florida where she spent her time working in her yard, visiting the beach, and sharing company with all her friends. Janice was preceded in death by her father, Frank DeCorte; mother, Lillian DeCorte, and brothers: Wayne, Frank, and Duane. FUNERAL: A Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Andrew LaFramboise will officiate. Honoring Janice's wishes cremation will follow the Service. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service at 11:00 a.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Covenant VNA Hospice or the Humane Society of the Donor's Choice. My friendship with Jan dates back to being classmates and friends at St. Mary's School. During those times and throughout the ensuing years we always knew there would never be a dull moment when Jan was with us. Her love of life and quick responses to various situations brought many chuckles which will leave lasting memories that never can be erased. She was a dear friend and will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.

While I never met Janice Marie, I know what a wonderful woman she must have been to have raised such a kind hearted, caring, wonderful man like her son, Mark. I am sure she will be sorely missed but what a great legacy she has left in her children. Frona Ross

Janice was one of the best Sister-in-laws, that I couldn't Ever ask for...She was a kind generous fun loving person who would help anyone in their time of need.....I have known Janice sine She was 14 years old and I married her Brother Duane in 1958 and Janice was my Maid of honor at our Wedding ...we kept in touch all these years and I will miss her very much...my heart goes out to Susie,Lisa And Mark for the loss of their Mother...may She rest in peace.

My heart goes out to Jan's family. I met Jan at work in Saginaw in the early 80's, and have been her friend ever since. Many great memories over the years, in fact, Jan was with me when I met my husband, whom she called "rawhide". What a wonderful person, so many laughs. I will miss you, my friend. I will miss your beautiful smile, your great sense of humor, and your great friendship. I know you are with the angels.
