Obituary
VERDUSCO, Josephine "Josie" of Saginaw Township, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at her home. She was 93 years old. Josephine Cepeda was born on January 27, 1922 in Houston, Texas to the late Joseph and Herlinda (Elizalde) Cepeda. Josie worked various occupations throughout her life, was of the Catholic faith, and a volunteer for the Saginaw Commission of Aging. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching football, golf, baseball, and making tortillas. Josie loved going on her bus trips to the different dinner shows and casinos. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons and one daughter: Joseph Verdusco, Carl Verdusco, and Diana (David) Bearss; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; five great-great grandchildren with one on the way; one sister, Alexandra Jaime; special family: Roger & Penny, Miranda, Amanda and Parker Quinnan; and many nieces and nephews. Josie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John and Rudy; daughters-in-law: Anita and Kay. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2015 at St. Joseph Parish, 910 N. 6th Avenue, 48601. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Cremation will follow. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at St. Joseph Parish on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Semper Fi Fund at www.semperfifund.org or St. Joseph Parish. Aunt Josie will always be jovial memory for me. She laughed as loud as me! I remember the days of living a block away from her. Diane and I shared so much time as children growing up. Then they moved three blocks away and I thought that was too far! Aunt Josie always loved being on the go. Her stories of dancing, casinos, and bus rides were always entertaining. She loved us all, she still does, and all who knew her loved her as well.

Josephine was my only sister. We shared Bingo time together, when we lived near each other, we spent time together sharing family dinners, visiting our mother and raising our children. She was a busy woman, working all the time. We worked together packing ice cream at McDonald's ice cream factory. We knew we were loved when we brought home ice cream at the end of the day to our children. We often walked to each others houses for a cup of coffee. My husband, Jesse Jaime, and Josie would always break out in uncontrolled laughter when we were all together. She was a wonderful person to be with and a loving sister.

Josie was the woman who cared for me and my siblings when we were growing up. Then after we were grown she shared her special love with our own children. She continued to be a very large part of my sister Penny's family's life. Josie was a second mom to me when I was young. I loved her, respected her and will miss her!
