William Gutzwiller

Gutzwiller, William "David" of Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison with his family by his side. He was 76 years old. William David Gutzwiller was born on May 6, 1938 in Ferndale, Michigan to the late William Franklin and Virginia Meta (Schuck) Gutzwiller. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth "Libby" Penny on February 18, 1956; she survives him. As a young boy, Dave moved to Springfield, Illinois, residing there until 1964 when he and Libby moved the family to Saginaw to pursue career opportunities with General Motors. Dave proudly served 30 years of service between Grey Iron Foundry and Nodular Iron. He enjoyed fishing and throughout his life had many unforgettable memories, especially his trip to Canada. Above all, David loved and cherished his beloved family. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Libby; two sons and a daughter: William H. (Lisa) Gutzwiller of Saginaw, Ronald L. (Mary) Gutzwiller of Hubbard Lake, Virginia "Ginger" (Rich) Rorrer of Saginaw; daughter-in-law, Debra Gutzwiller; 10 grandchildren: William H. (Melissa) Gutzwiller, II; Kristyn Latham, David (Shianne) Gutzwiller, Laura Gutzwiller, Michelle (Zach) Smith, Jonathon Gutzwiller, Ronald J. "R.J." Gutzwiller, Elizabeth Rorrer, Ryan Gutzwiller, and Hanna Rorrer; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris DiCenso of Springfield, IL; brother, James Gutzwiller of Panama sister-in-law, Ruth Ann (Ken) Buetow of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael David Gutzwiller in 2007. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. James Neumann will officiate. Honoring Dave's wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
