Fern Morrill

Fern (Kelbey) Morrill of Sanford, North Carolina, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Parkview Retirement Community. She was 90 years old. Fern Kelbey was born on March 19, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Fred and Marion "Lula" (Snider) Kelbey. She married Robert Morrill on January 5, 1946; he preceded her in death. Fern worked for and retired from the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center as a secretary in the business office. She was a longtime member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. She enjoyed many things in life, but above all she loved and cherished her family. Surviving are two sons and a daughter: Robert Morrill of Sanford, NC, Gary (Jacqueline) Morrill of Phoenix, AZ, and Denise (Bruce) VanderWeele of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons; brother, Fritz Kelbey of St. Charles. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Morrill; two brothers: Jack and Tom Kelbey. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Private Entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
