Jack Hillman

Jack R. Hillman of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. He was 88 years old. Jack Richard Hillman was born on November 8, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late George F. and Leah L. (Loiselle) Hillman. He married Erma L. LaBelle on Valentine's Day, 1948; she preceded him in death on February 25, 2010. Jack graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1943. He then proudly served in the United States Army during World War II as a Boilermaker Helper. Jack worked for both Wickes Boiler, which was later acquired by Combustion Engineering, and Rainbow Bread. After retiring from Combustion Engineering, he engraved trophies and such for Awards and Sports. He enjoyed golfing, the occasional casino visit, feeding the birds, flowers and working in the yard. Jack was a big Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan fan. Part of Jack's daily routine included displaying the American flag and going for walks in the park. Jack and Erma wintered in Arizona and just so happened to have a place near Las Vegas. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Dennis R. Hillman; grandson, Chance Hillman; three sisters: Dorothy Branch, Lois Filiatraut, Janet (Ken) Maxson; sister-in-law, Ann (Edwin) Beythan; brother-in-law, Ken (Joan) LaBelle; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jim and Barb Schuldies of California. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Erma; and son, Richard. All services are private. Entombment has taken place at Oakwood Mausoleum.
