David King

KING, David C. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. He was 81 years old. David Charles King was born on February 20, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Stanley and Helen (Moore) King. He married Joan M. Hensel on July 3, 1953; she survives him. David retired from General Motors after 32 years of service, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Birch Run. In David's spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also was "Mr. Fix It"; David could take anything apart, put it back together, have spare parts, and it would still work! Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 ½ years, Joan; daughters, Valerie (Scott) King Anderson and Tammy King; son, Richard (Karen) King; seven grandchildren: Amanda, Kristin, Katie, Kyle, Renee, Ashley, Evan; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers: George (Bernice) King, Edward (Margaret) King, and Michael King; and many other family members and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents and son, David Michael King. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss Street. Rev. Michael Korte will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., as well as on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
