Obituary
LEITNER, Samuel C. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Mary's of Michigan. He was 85 years old. Samuel Charles Leitner was born on September 19, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to the late Lorin and Edith (Faylor) Leitner. He married Beverly Yvonne Milholin on June 21, 1952; she survives him. Samuel graduated from Gladwin High School with the Class of 1947. He then joined the United States Navy as Fireman Apprentice. Upon his honorable discharge, he was a self-employed salesman for many years. Samuel and Bev were members of Hemlock United Methodist Church. He was a Free & Accepted Mason of Michigan - Grand Lodge and a volunteer firefighter for Jonesfield-Lakefield in Merrill, Michigan. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. He enjoyed nothing more than his family. Surviving besides his wife of 62 years, Bev; three children: Debbie (Rex) Wolfe from Merrill, Judy (Ron) Poyer from Merrill, and Jeff (Cathy) Leitner from Green Bay, WI; five grandchildren: Adam (Amy) Siler, Nicole Wolfe and fiancé, Andy Wendling, Courtney (Miguel) Atkinson, Taryn (Wade) Brown, and Abbey Leitner; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne (Deborah) Leitner; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Clifford Lane. MEMORIAL: Memorial Service will take place at 12:00noon on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Hemlock United Methodist Church, 406 West Saginaw Street, 48626. Rev. Michael W. Vollmer will officiate. Cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to family to use at their discretion. He was my grandpa and I feel so bad that he's gone but he is in a better place. I'm always going to miss him trying to tickle me as I walked by and him asking if I could sit on his lap and I miss I'm so much. I feel bad for all my other family members. I have many memories of Sam when he had the gas station in Merrill, he would always joke around with all of his patrons and a very fun guy! RIP Sam and thoughts and prayers to the whole family! Maynard and Linda Davis
