GUSTIN, John A. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. He was 79 years old. John Allan Gustin was born on March 15, 1935 in Saginaw to the late Dewey and Myrtle (Brock) Gustin. He was married to Nanette H. DeRosia on June 28, 1958 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Saginaw. She preceded him in death on December 15, 2010. John graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1953. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, serving on a Minesweeper until his honorable discharge. Throughout his life, he worked as a beer wholesaler for Max Treu Inc and Fabiano Brothers. In his spare time, John enjoyed golfing, music, and traveling with Nan. After retirement, John and Nan spent time between Arizona and Michigan. Left to cherish John's memory are three children: Shelly (Rudy) Rivera, Mike (Kim) Gustin and Mark (Anne) Gustin; eleven grandchildren: Adam (Kendra), Erin (Wade), Katie (Stephen), Samantha, Angie (Tony), Rudy Jr., Jennifer (Brad), Samuel, Heather, Ashley (Eric), and Jason; ten great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Bill, Bob, and Jim and sister, Marilyn. John's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Cartwright Hospice Residence and Covenant ICU. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Randy Owens will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. Cemetery chapel military honors will take place under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimers Association, 4604 North Saginaw Rd., Midland MI 48640.
