OWENS, Kathleen "Kate" M. of Bunnell, Florida, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on October 25, 2014. She was 40 years old. Kathleen Marie Owens was born on July 27, 1974 in Saginaw to Daniel and Barbara (Halm) Owens. Kate graduated from Chesaning Union High School with the Class of 1993. In 2013, she moved to Florida and worked at The Bark Spot where she groomed and cared for dogs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and dog, Atlis, as well as hanging out with Aunt Pat Halm. Surviving are her mother, Barbara Naegele; brother and sister: James (Kim) Owens and Aimee Owens (Keith Konkus); nephew, Daniel Owens; four nieces: Chloe Mclearn, Brittani and Breanna Owens, and Karlie Konkus; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kate was preceded in death by her father; grandparents; cousin, Jill Ziarko; and uncle, Ralph Halm. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Kathryn Snedeker will officiate. Private burial will take place at St. Andrew Cemetery at a later date. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, www.aspca.org/donate. I'm so sadden by this. Kattie was always the little curly blonde "Shirley Temple" running around at the family reunions. I'm so happy that we had a chance to see each other again last year down here in Florida. Love you all very much.xoxoxoxoxo!

I was shocked and so sad to hear about Kate! My most sincere sympathies to you Barb, Jim, Aimee and the rest of your family and friends. I remember playing in the basement of your house as kids, and Kate was always such a little stinker, but adorable at the same time. She grew up to be a beautiful woman, and heaven has gained a precious angel.
