Stella Mauro

MAURO, Stella M. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Appledorn Assisted Living in Holland, Michigan. She was 97 years old. Stella Marion Wiercinski was born on December 1, 1916 in Buffalo, NY to the late Stanley and Frances (Bloski) Wiercinski. She married Bartolomeo "Bart" Mauro on September 7, 1940 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2008. Stella worked for Lufkin Rule making rulers. She was a faithful member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Stella loved to cook, sharing that gift with her family and friends, time spent around a table, gave her great joy. Stella is survived by her children: Giovachino "Jack" (Mary Lou) Mauro, Bartolomeo Mauro Jr., Ann Marie (Jack) Brummel; three grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Temple, Giovachino "Jack" Mauro, Jr. and Trevor Mauro Brummel; two great grandchildren: Brian and Jessica Temple; and a great great granddaugher, Madeline Temple. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister. FUNERAL: Stella's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1320 Malzahn Street. Rev. Fr. Andy LaFrombroise will officiate. Entombment will follow in St. Andrew Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Stella will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass.
