Obituary
KOLKA, Leora Ann of Carrollton, Michigan, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper with her family by her side. She was 75 years old. Leora Ann Kolka was born on June 15, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Russell and Caroline (Riley) Kennedy. She married the love of her life, Larry H. Kolka on October 24, 1959 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2009. Surviving are four daughters: June Shields (Jimmy), Brenda Kolka Birch, Debbie Davis and Cheryl Kolka; nine grandchildren: Jenny (Eric) Bostwick, Jason (Megan) Kolka, Chad (Jennifer) Shields, Dennis (Katie) Manry, Christen Manry, Matthew (Melissa) Davis, Steffan Williams, Donte Williams, and Nathan Thomas, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren: Kayla, Caitlyn, Aubrey, Camryn, Gabriel, Ethan, Liam, and Chanell; five brothers and three sisters: Major Thomas (Pat) Kennedy, Ronnie Kennedy, Jerry (Deb) Kennedy, Jim Kennedy, John (Sue) R. Kennedy, Carol (Larry) Fortier, Mary Frost, and Sharon (Tom) Johnson; a sister-in-law, Donna Walderzak. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Irene and Ruth Ann Kennedy, June Anklam and Joanne LaLonde; a brother, Bill Kennedy. VISITATION and FUNERAL: Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. Sr. Christine Gretka, CSJ will officiate. Honoring Leora's wishes cremation will follow. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Kolka Family c/o Jennifer Bostwick. I can still remember coming over to Cheryl's house as a little kid. We were always having sleep over's. I walked in and was welcomed by the sweetest lady in the world! My heart goes out to the Kolka family. She was one of a kind!

Yes Aunt Leora you are beautiful...She would say here comes my Vickie and she would put her hand up by her hair and ask me "do I look beautiful" her and my mother. We would always call her Grandma because she looked just like her mother. I love you Aunt Leora, RIP
