Betty Armstrong

ARMSTRONG, Betty J. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at her son's home in Rochester Hills; her family was by her side. She was 89 years old. Betty Jane Martin was born on March 4, 1925, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Frederick, Sr. and Rosalynn (Mertz) Martin. She married Carl A. Armstrong, Sr. on March 16, 1946; he preceded her in death on April 12, 1996. Betty graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1943. She was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and a member of the Junior Women's Club for many years. Betty was an avid golfer and a former member of the Maple Hills Golf Course and the Rolling Green Golf Course. Betty leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Carl (Johanna) Armstrong and Tom (Melodee) Armstrong; step-son, Gary (Karen) Armstrong; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 50 years, Carl Sr.; son, Bradley; and all of her siblings. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockway Rd. Pastor Kathleen A. Basner will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon.
