Michael Gray

GRAY, Michael P. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, April 03, 2014. He was 44 years old. Michael Patrick Gray was born on July 19, 1969 in Saginaw, Michigan to Timothy M. and Cheryl L. (French) Gray. He attended Arthur Hill High School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Navy serving for four years, from August 29, 1989 to August 27, 1993. Following his honorable discharge from the military, he was employed by the City of Saginaw Fire Department, retiring with the rank of Captain after 17 years of service. Michael was a member of Scott Tuttle Jazz Quartet and the Saginaw Elite Big Band. In his spare time, he enjoyed hockey and mountain biking. He enjoyed all types of music and taught himself how to play the keyboard. Additionally, he was a voracious reader and very knowledgeable, able to hold his own on any subject. Surviving are his son, Jacob Gray of Saginaw; parents: Timothy and Cheryl Gray of Saginaw; sister, Kari (Randy) Keith of Saginaw; niece and nephew: Elliott and Alexander; and grandmother, Shirley French of Saginaw. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Chaplain Bill Howard will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of VFW Post 1859. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., as well as on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
