Alberta Bogardus

BOGARDUS, Alberta Joan Frost passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City, with her children at her side. Alberta was born on March 12, 1926 in Saginaw to the late Robert and Nellie Hunt. She married Thomas Bogardus who predeceased her in 1969. Alberta later married Henry Frost who also predeceased her in June of 2013. Alberta was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved golfing, dancing, tending to her flower gardens and feeding as well as watching the birds. Her favorite hobby was spending time with her family. Alberta is survived by her five children: Susan (Mike) Richter of Traverse City, Tim (Sherry) Bogardus of Saginaw, Sally (Jim) Kiebel of Saginaw, Sherri (Bill) Ricard of Traverse City and Todd (Anne) Bogardus of Surprise, Arizona. Also Surviving are three stepchildren: Vicki Lear, Valerie Frost and Steve Frost; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family has gifted her body to the MSU Medical School for the research of Alzheimer's disease.
