Timothy Spendlove

SPENDLOVE, Timothy J. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. He was 66 years old. Timothy J. Spendlove was born on December 2, 1946 in Saginaw, to the late Thomas W. and Josephine M. (Miklovic) Spendlove. He married Mary Ellen Howard on May 23, 1970 at St. John's Catholic Church in Benton Harbor; she survives him. Tim graduated from Ss. Peter & Paul High School with the class of 1965. He then proudly attended the University of Detroit, completing his degree from Saginaw Valley State University. Tim was employed by GM as an accountant, retiring on his 55th birthday, December 2, 2001. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Tim was a little league coach for Saginaw Township South; dedicating over 25 years to his teams. He was passionate about traveling, wanting to see every county in every state within the U.S. Tim also enjoyed making "super tapes", golfing and bowling. He treasured and cherished the times he spent at the cottage with his family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Ellen Spendlove; two sons and a daughter: Thomas W. (Christine) Spendlove, II, of Frankenmuth, Tracy W. (Chris) Nelson of Lowell, and Theodore W. Spendlove of Traverse City; seven grandchildren: Cassidy, Abby and Zoey Spendlove and Erica, Matt, Gunnar and Joset Nelson. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law: Susan Duckworth and Sandy Derevage; two brothers- and sisters-in-law: John C. (Karen) Howard and James C. (Rose) Howard. He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law: Tom Howard and Ed Duckworth. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave. Rev. Fr. John R. Johnson will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
