NIEDERSTADT, Gary D. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was 66 years old. Gary Donald Niederstadt was born March 3, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Herbert and Edith (Schumann) Niederstadt. He married Marilyn R. Gremel on July 7, 1990 in Traverse City; she survives him. Gary graduated from Douglas McArthur High School with the Class of 1965. He then attended the Saginaw Business Institute. Later, he owned and operated Realgood Cleaners for many years. Gary was a former involved parent and parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas. He was the Commander of the Sons of American Legion #439, an active member of the Moose Lodge #1437, and participated in several other fraternal organizations. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards, hunting, and cooking. Some of his fondest memories were of spending summers and weekends at Torch Lake. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Marilyn; four children: Teri (B.J.) Hull, Rick (Jen) Niederstadt, Mike (Coni) Gremel, and Joe (Heather) Gremel; four grandchildren: Coleman and Garrett Niederstadt and Ethan and Hannah Gremel; brother, Jim (Rose) Niederstadt; brother-in-law, Ed Fluder; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edith "Toots" Fluder; and nephew, Chad Niederstadt. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (Off State). Rev. Fr. Robert J. DeLand will officiate. Honoring Gary's wishes, cremation will follow the service. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the funeral home on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m, as well as on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Torch Lake Protection Alliance at www.torchlakeprotectionalliance.org. Dear Teri and Rick,
Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your father...how difficult!

Marilyn and family, Teri/Rick and family: My condolences and heartfelt sympathy to you all during this difficult time. In reading Gary's obituary, I was also reminded of many fun visits up to Torch Lake and how much Gary enjoyed nature and natural settings. A love ot the natural world is something that we shared, which is also something shared by so many of his family. May you find comfort in the support of family and friends.

Mariln, I,am so sorry to hear of Garys passing. you and gary have always been two of the best people I have ever met. I have offten thought of us aloung with glenna at the wash hall, playing ship capton & crew along with everyone. you are in my thoughts and in my heart .
