Thomas Carelli

CARELLI, Thomas "Tom" David of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities. He was 66 years old. Thomas David Carelli was born on November 20, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Frank L. Sr. and Rose F. (Cravero) Carelli. He married Susan Marie Kotenko on February 4, 2004; she survives him. Tom graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1965. He proudly served the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, as a construction worker from 1967 until his honorable discharge in 1969. Later, he was employed by General Motors for 34 years in mail delivery. Further, Tom was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Tom loved sports; specifically, the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and Great Lakes Loons. He and Susie enjoyed dancing, going to the movies, and traveling all over the country to see his favorite sports teams play. Tom leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Susan; son, Christian (Dana) Carelli; two grandsons: Jimmy and Mark Carelli; brother, John (Elaine) Carelli; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Carelli; and brother, Frank Carelli, Jr. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave. 48601. Rev. Fr. David J. Jenuwine will officiate. Rite of Committal will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, September 8, 2013, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tom will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
