Harden, Kevin Jon of Flint, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. He was 53 years old. Kevin J. Harden was born on March 2, 1960 to the late Patrick and Janet (Wressell) Harden. He married Nanette Timm in 1989. He later married, Janna Lynne Southwell on October 16, 1999 in Oakley, Michigan. She survives him. He graduated from Delta College with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He was employed by Kroger in Flint, as the manager of their meat department. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He participated in sailing races weekly with the Bay City Yacht Club. Kevin loved his motorcycle, but above all, he truly treasured and cherished his wife, children, brothers, sister and additional family. Surviving are his wife, Janna Harden of Flint; seven children: Shannon Harden of Phoenix, AZ, Gregory Harden (currently serving in Afghanistan in the U.S. Army as a medic), Evelyn, Jeffery, Bethany, JoAnna and Jon Harden all of Flint; two brothers and a sister: Patrick (Carole) Harden of Traverse City, Lori Harden of Saginaw, and Brian Harden of Saginaw; a sister-in-law, Cindi Harden of South Lyon; and a mother-in-law, JoAnn Southwell of Owosso; two brothers-in-law: Jon Southwell of Saginaw and James Southwell of Owosso. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Harden and a sister-in-law, Stacy Harden. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Gregory Ewald will officiate. Honoring Kevin's wishes cremation will follow. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Janna Harden for future college expenses for their children. I just have to say that everyone who knew Kev at the Saginaw County Juvenile Center where he worked for many years is in shock and very sad. Kevin was a great guy. Funny, truthful, always a great friend. I will miss him very much. Rum and cokes won't quite taste the same. I send my love to Janna and the kids he loved very much. I know Kevin lived life how he wanted. I am sure he had no regrets.

I met Kevin through sailing at BCYC on a Wednesday evening. I never saw him without a smile of his face. A fun person to be around. We will miss him terribly. My heart goes out to his wife and family.
