Matilda Dale

DALE, Matilda Tillie (Soria) of Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister went home to be with the Lord with her family by her side Wednesday, August 14, 2013, age 74 years old. Tillie was born March 9, 1939 in Saginaw, MI. daughter of the late Ramon and Carmen Soria. She attended St. Joseph High School and graduated in 1957 with honors. She was also crowned "Basketball Queen" during her high school tenure. Tillie met the love of her life Archer Dale at a young age. They later married and to this union three daughters were born, Francesca Knot, Delanna Dale, Danielle Dale and (fiancé Keith Williams). They were happily married for 50 years. Tillie was a supervisor for Michigan Bell and retired after 37 years of service. She later worked at Grants Sysco as secretary and Delta College as a registrar. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bowling, cooking and most of all spending time with her family. Besides her loving husband and daughters, her memory will be cherished by eight grandchildren; Jonathan Strolle, Jason Knot, Danielle (Derrick) Guty, Andrea Doneth, Alli Knot, Deviree' Denson, D'Avian, and Keiara Williams; siblings, Raymond (Mercedes) Soria, Julian Soria, Belia Tafoya, and Rosa (Robert) Gomez; brother in law, Lorman Dale, four sisters in law, Lois Dale, Helen Johnson, Misako Johnson, Irene Agostini and a special sister in law Doreen Leek. Also, a host of dearly loved, nieces, nephews, God children and friends. Besides her parents Tillie was predeceased by her brother William Soria; sisters Dolores Lucio and Mary Kapp. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. Sixth Ave. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Sunday, August 18, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A vigil service will take place on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Tillie will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
