Upon arriving to the United States, she enrolled and graduated from M.J. Murphy Beauty College. She then owned and operated Jovita's Beauty Salon, retiring after 31 years of service. In her spare time, she also enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, needle point, sewing and singing at Peewee's Lounge with the Lee Brandimore Band. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband, Raymond of Saginaw; two sons and one daughter: Gerald (Carmen) Zamora of Saginaw, Vincent Zamora of Saginaw, and Lorna (Elliott) Brackett of Reed City; seven grandchildren: Kayla, Alicia, Tyler, Kurtis, Alyssa, Joaquin, and Mekenzee; one great-granddaughter, Aleena; four brothers and three sisters: Robert, Ben, David, George, Sid, Lorraine, and Martha; three sisters-in-law, Janie Zamora of Maryland, Elena (Ralph) Guevara of Clio, and Anita Zamora of Saginaw; and one brother-in-law, Frank (Diana) Zamora of Jackson. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Rita; and Lillian and a sister-in-law, Wilma Sargent.
