FROST, Henry "Hank" Everett, Jr. of Freeland, Michigan passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Stone Crest Assisted Living in Freeland. He was 89 years old. Henry E. Frost, Jr. was born on August 14, 1923 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Henry E., Sr. and Bertha E. (Hunt) Frost. He married Virginia M. Link on July 20, 1946; she preceded him in death on August 28, 1969. Henry "Hank" later married Alberta J. Bogardus on June 12, 1970; she survives him. He graduated from Midland Senior High School, Class of 1942. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 3, 1942. His training included Aerial Mines, Bomb Reconnaissance School, Parachute School, and Demolition School. During his service, he was a Demolition Specialist. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was the sole survivor of a jeep explosion from a land mine. Following his honorable discharge, Henry "Hank" began to work for Michigan Bell PBX Installer; retiring after 32 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. Retiring at age 54, he enjoyed traveling with his wife. Surviving besides his wife, Alberta, are two daughters and a son from his late wife, Virginia: Vicki (William) Lear of Punta Gorda, FL, Valerie Sharkey of Tucson, AZ, and Steve (Terry) Frost of Freeland; five step-children; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Donald Frost. FUNERAL: A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Ron Fredrick will officiate. Military Honors will follow conducted under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday, 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Dear Vicki, Val and Steve: I was sorry to see that your Dad had passed away. I remember so many good times at your home in Freeland. It was always a highlight when my mom would say she was going to see Ginny, it meant that I got to come and play with Val. To Vicki, Val & Steve - sorry to hear about Uncle Hank's passing. We had visited him when we came to Freeland 3 years ago in the home. Of course, he didn't remember me.

Dear Frost Family, I am writing this on behalf of my father, Art Karam. Dad wanted me to tell you how sorry he was to hear of Hank's passing. Dad is 95 and living at McBrite Manor here in Saginaw and doesn't venture out anymore. Dad and Mom enjoyed many good times with both Hank and Ginny for many years when they lived in Freeland and that friendship continued when they moved back to Saginaw. Dear Vicky, I was very sorry to hear of your dad's passing from my sister. He, Ginny, and ther rest of your family will always be remembered by us as close friends and very gracious people. I still remember vividly my first hunting trip with your dad at West Branch. He treated me as one of the "guys" while I was only 16. Many memories come back from Clear Lake and Freeland. He is now resting peacefully and reunited with your mom. Please accept my condolences..
