John Kowalski

KOWALSKI, John Charles of Saginaw, Michigan slipped away to join his wife on Thursday, May 30, 2013. He was 67 years old. John C. Kowalski was born on July 20, 1945 in Midland, Michigan to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Burgess) Kowalski. He married Sherry L. Davy on August 27, 1966 in Midland, Michigan; she preceded him in death on May 16, 1983. John was a proud graduate of Midland High School. He began working for DDT Industries in Saginaw when he was 18 years old and with over 30 years of dedicated service. John enjoyed drag races and NASCAR. He also loved Classic, Hotrod and Muscle cars. Following his retirement, John enjoyed watching TV, especially the History Channel, and taking care of his yard. He truly lived his life gracefully. Surviving are a son, Brian Kowalski and his fiancée, Tracy Ehlert of Birch Run; a daughter, Lisa (William) Schorp of Crest Hill, IL; a grandson, Ryan Kowalski of Birch Run; one brother, Ed (Dolores) Kowalski; four sisters: Janet Kowalski, Pat Crapse, Sharon (Bud) Burden and Beverly (Leon) Anabel. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Woodward Crapes. FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery - Freeland. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
