Margaret Barber

BARBER, Margaret Ann of Saginaw Township, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at home, surrounded by her family. Margaret Ann Blackmar was born on February 20, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late John P. and Beulah (Evans) Blackmar. She married John L. Barber at Jefferson Ave Methodist Church on July 8, 1950. At the time of his passing in 1980, they had been married 29 years. Margaret graduated from Saginaw High School and remained active until her death with a group of very special friends from the SHS Class of 1946. She was involved in the Saginaw County Pharmaceutical Assn Auxiliary while her husband was co-owner of Byron & Barber Pharmacies. She went on to work at Jacobson's in Saginaw, Jacksonville and Tampa, FL until retiring in 1994. Following her retirement, she worked with her daughter at Stacy O's. Without question, Margaret's life centered on her children and grandchildren, her family and a large circle of life long friends. Surviving are three children, Kimberly (Anton Burwan) Barber, Montville, NJ; Stacy (Joe) Oeming, Saginaw; son, Jeffrey (Karen) Barber, Lawrenceville, GA; and three grandchildren whom she adored, Gabe and Charlie Burwan and Karli Barber. In addition, she was preceded in death by her only brother, John E. Blackmar in 1994. FUNERAL: Cremation has taken place. A brief memorial service will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 2:30 pm at the Andersen Enrichment Center, 120 Ezra Rust Dr., Saginaw MI 48601. Rev. James Neumann will officiate. At her request, a "celebration of her life" is planned to follow the service.
