Obituary
PERRY, M. Kathleen of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013 at Shattuck Manor surrounded by her family. She was 94 years old. Mary Kathleen Leidlein was born on April 1, 1918 in Saginaw to the late Oren M. and Florence K. (Waters) Leidlein. She married Donald J. Perry on August 23, 1941 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2004. Kathleen graduated from Saginaw High School; class of 1936. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church where she was very active as a parishioner and volunteer. Kathleen was also a member of the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary where she created floral arrangements and assisted in the gift shop. She was an excellent seamstress and great cook. Kathleen loved gardening and reading, but most of all she cherished time spent with her family. Left to treasure her memory are two daughters and three sons: Kathleen Kostrzewa of Traverse City, Tim (Anne) Perry of Traverse City, Janis (Thomas) Conley of Saginaw, Steven Perry of Waterford, Michael Perry of Phoenix, AZ; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Barbara) Leidlein of Austin, TX; two sisters-in-law: Marjorie Leidlein of Saginaw, and Dorothy Perry of Boyne City. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Perry; a son, David Perry; a great grandson, Logan Shea; two brothers: John and Richard Leidlein. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, St. Mary's of Michigan Auxiliary or a charity of the donor's choice. Dearest Jan, so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I have so many memories of her from grade school at St. Helen's. She could do everything, cook, sew, plan fun activities, all that good stuff. I know the many memories you have of good times, will get you through this sad one. Take care, my thoughts are with you and your family. PS. Now I see how much you look like your mom.
